Focus Day Update

LWPTSA Council wil not be sending a group to Focus Day this year due to member feedback, and will not be scheduling meetings at the event with legislators. Instead, they will be hosting local legislators at the LWPTSA Council brown bag in May.

If your PTSA or individuals from your school are interested in attending, you are welcome to attend.
Details on WSPTSA Focus Day can be found here.

What is Advocacy?

Advocacy within the Washington State PTA and local PTS/PTSA groups helps speak for the students and families they serve by addressing the 5 top legislative priorities with our state and local governments. These priorities for 2019 are:

Social Emotional Learning

School Construction and Simple Majority for Bonds

Prevent Gun Violence

Strategies to Address the Teacher Shortage

Strategic K-12 Investments to Close Gaps
